Boris Reveal Otherworldly Video for “満ち草 -michikusa-”

The song appears on their latest release, fade.  // Released digitally last December via Bandcamp, fade arrives on double LP format today.  The deluxe, 180g vinyl release comes in pink and black variants with laminated gatefold jacket.  The albums were manufactured by Third Man Pressing and released by fangsanalsatan, and are available for pre-order through Sacred Bones.

Boris release their latest artwork as an animated music video, a collaboration with award-winning director/animator Nalani Williams.

The animated work is a depiction of an expanded surrealistic world visualizing a song off of boris’s most recent album, fade, which is the third album they released last year for their 30th anniversary as a band. The video is a work of art made using scrupulous frame-by-frame stop motion animation.

昨年バンドキャンプで発表されたアルバム『fade』のアナログ化に伴い、映像作品を公開。収録楽曲”満ち草 -michikusa-”から拡張された超現実世界を映像化。様々な受賞歴を持つLA在住のアーティスト、ナラニ・ウィリアムズの手によるストップモーション・アニメによって、フレーム毎に克明に描かれたアート・ピース。
トレモロアームによってゆっくりと軋み、歪められ、浮上と沈降が延々と続く今楽曲から紡ぎ出された世界。
皮膚と骨でできた美しくも地獄のような風景の中をもがきながら、生と死の終わりなきサイクルあるいはその狭間で、ミステリアスな生物たちはその覇権を争っている。
ストップモーション、手描きアニメーション、ペインティングといった多様な技法を駆使しつつも、実にシームレスに繰り出されるそれは、あらゆるジャンルを縦横無尽にするBorisの音像とシンクロし、異形の新世界を幻出させている。
