Listening to these tracks and exposing the breath of life and skeletal structure of these compositions, we believe it once again points toward a hint about the core of what “Akuma no Uta” is.

“COSMOS Re-Master + Live”
From the 2012 split release with UK singer songwriter Joe Volk, with an additional live recording from a show during a 2013 US Tour.

“Mr.Shortkill Re-Master“
Originally released only on 12-inch vinyl in 2016. This is a rerecording of the song we wrote and provided for “Ninja Slayer” when the novel series was made into a TV anime series. The 12” cut goes against current standards being produced in monaural sound, with particular attention paid to a thorough analog mix. This time for its first ever digital release it has been given the remastering treatment for digital format.

先日発掘された、アルバム『あくまのうた』製作時に残されていたラフミックス、デモトラックバージョンを収録。むき出しになった楽曲の骨格と息遣いを感じて欲しい。未発表の写真を含むブックレット付き。

『COSMOS Re-Master + Live』
2012年に発表したイギリスのSSW、Joe Volkとのスプリット作品に、2013年のアメリカツアーのライブ音源を追加、全編にリマスタリングを施してのリリース。

『Mr.Shortkill Re-Master』
オリジナルは2016年発表。アナログ12inchのみでのリリース。
小説『ニンジャスレイヤー』アニメ化の際に描き下し・提供した楽曲を、12inchカット用に再録。時流に逆行するかのようにモノラル仕様、アナログミックスに徹底的に拘って制作した作品。今回初のデジタルリリースとしてデジタルフォーマット用にRe-Masteringも施した。

May 1, 2021, Boris releases to the world the visual soundscape of their release party for their album “NO” that took place in November of last year. This will be a stream of a video shot with a 360 degree camera that allows for audience participation; it is a live show that is only complete when the viewed by the audience. For all viewers, this is a “tour in your head”.

The second part of Season 2 includes the first digital releases of 3 works: a precious live documentation recorded during Boris’ tour following the release of “New Album” (2011), titled ‘“Hope” Japan Tour 2011’; ‘mabuta no ura’ (2005), with Japanese and overseas versions; and ‘Variations’ (2010), a “best of” compilation featuring Michio Kurihara on new recordings of previously released material. ‘“Hope” Japan Tour 2011’ is a previously unreleased full set live recording.

本日3月5日リリースのSeason2第二弾は『New Album』（2011年）リリース後のツアーで収録された貴重なライブドキュメント『”Hope” Japan Tour 2011』、『mabuta no ura』（2005年）の日本盤・海外盤2バージョン、そして栗原ミチオとの再録を含むベスト盤『Variations』（2010）の3作品を初デジタルリリース。『”Hope” Japan Tour 2011』はフルセットライブ音源として世界初公開。

現在、コロナ禍によって多くの公演が延期・中止、ライブハウスやクラブは休業を強いられ、閉店廃業に追い込まれるハコも少なくない厳しい状況。そんな中自らの存続と音楽文化の継承を賭けて、Borisの国内ホームグラウンドである新代田LIVE HOUSE FEVERは『made in 新代田』という企画をスタートさせました。「アーティストの T シャツを FEVER の一角にある LUCKY の工房で製作、販売発送までを FEVER が行う。FEVER はプリント代金と発送に関する手数料を売上とし、純利益はアーティストへ渡す」というこの企画に対して、自分達も何か楽しくなれることが出来ないか、と考えました。メンバーで話しながら辿りついたのは「今回の制作販売で得た利益でOrangeのアンプを購入、FEVERに贈り、出演者にガンガン鳴らして使ってもらおう」というものでした。その顛末と詳細が画像・動画とともにnoteにアップされました。ぜひご覧ください。

1990年代後期に活動を一旦停止する「Z.O.A」、同時期に活動を開始した「Boris」。
当時直接交わることはなかった彼らが、2019年10/13(日) 高円寺HIGHで遂に共演する。
「Boris」が2014年に発表したアルバム『目をそらした瞬間 extra』に森川がゲストヴォーカルとして参加、続く「血と雫」との共演、「YBO2」のトリビュートプロジェクト「鬼 -O.N.I-」へ「Z.O.A」の森川と黒木「Boris」のAtsuoとTakeshi が参加したことがきっかけで、「A/N【eɪ-ɛn】」が結成されるなど、近年その関わりは急速に密となり、同時に「Z.O.A」活動再開の動へつながっていった。
(「Z.O.A」からの直接的影響を公言するAtsuoは先頃20年ぶりにリリースされたアルバムとDVDに全面的に携わっている。)
今回公開されるこのドキュメントは、両者の出会いが必然として約束される過程を垣間観る一端となるだろう。

This double LP exists as two independent works, encapsulating conflicting connotations that interweave and become intricately entangled with one another, gradually eroding before becoming utterly singular. Continuing to tinker and toil with their sound since the 2017 release of DEAR, Boris have pivoted onward a more organic, non-grid literary style that LφVE & EVφL showcases. The album’s first single, “Love,” is one of the most musically diverse in their career and showcases a snippet of what is to come on LφVE & EVφL. Additionally, Boris will be reissuing their pioneering albums Akuma No Uta and Feedbacker via Third Man Records. The albums will be available on exclusive, limited edition colorways from Boris on the road this fall, and in stores on October 4th. The monolithic trio will canvas North America on tour with NYC industrialists Uniform from August 19th through September 29th; check out all tour dates listed below. Borisのニューシングル『tears e.p』に収録されたD-DAYのカヴァー曲”Peaches”の動画を公開。 2016年、当時白血病の治療で闘病中だったD-DAYの川喜多美子さんを励ますため、 多くの有志が集まって応援のイベントを開催しました。 今回の動画は、その時にBorisがビデオレターとして”Peaches”を録音/ビデオ収録し、 美子さんに宛てたもの。いつものステージングとは違ったリラックスした様子が収められており、『tears e.p』はこういった、Borisを支えている様々な繋がりが透けて見えてくる作品にもなっています。
